Racing Charters

Regretfully, Team Akula will be taking 2008 off from A-Season Championship series racing. Little kids and a new house limits both time and money for a competitive program. Nonetheless, the 2008 season will be big and exciting for J105s on the Bay as the North Americans are here this year.

Akula is available for charter for any of the major regattas in 2008. Basic terms are:

1. Pay the fees. Half in advance secures the charter

2. I have 3 2008 sail tags. I'm willing to talk about the best use of these. Otherwise, you can bring your own sails or use my 2007 sails. I'm not planning to buy any sails and so they won't be sitting around waiting for someone to use them. If you want new heavy air sails, then talk to me ASAP.

3. You provide insurance.

4. You must be a J105 owner who races regularly in your home region.

5. You break it, you fix it. This is racing and there is no such thing as fair wear and tear.

I'll be taking my kids out on the boat from time to time over the year and the boat will be under professional maintenance. She is in race-ready shape and the bottom was re-sprayed and burnished to 800 grit in June 2007. If you want to have it re-done, we can chat about cost-sharing.
